Sunday Undercovers is a new project I've started since the completion of the Tall Tall Trees album.
It began on a rainy April 5th when I recorded a version of "A Thing Called Love" made famous Sam Cooke for fun. I have since been recording and releasing a new cover song every Sunday for my own amusement as well as (hopefully) your listening pleasure. I will continue to do so until the release of the TTT record on 6/24 and will issue the album as a bonus download for people who purchase the Tall Tall Trees album.
Of course there are some rules involved to keep it interesting.
1. The song has to be arranged, recorded, mixed, and released within 24 hours (hopefully Sunday, time permitting).
2. It cannot be in the original style.
3. There can be no studio magic, major edits, or auto-tune.
Week 1 "A Thing Called Love" - Sam Cooke
Week 2 "Love Is Not For Me" - Roger Miller
Week 3 "Hungry Like The Wolf" feat. Kate Havnevik- Duran Duran

Hey Gang,
I'm so happy to announce that the new Tall Tall Trees LP is in the can. It's been mixed and mastered by our friend Robert "Lucky" Smith at Defy Recordings here in NYC and we are wrapping up the artwork with our favorite artist Mortimer who has done a amazing job on the cover and has been providing us with beautiful flyer art as evidenced below.
We've leaked two tracks from the album on our new myspace page just to wet your whistle as we gear up for our big CD release party in June.

Say Hello to Tall Tall Trees

"It'll be hard to put a finger on the new Tall Tall Trees LP. With a sound heavily steeped in old-time and bluegrass music, yet riddled with fuzz pedals, iron maiden quoteables, clanking percussion and surf harmonies, this Harlem based outfit has been performing together in one way or another since 2005. Come see them do what they do when they do it. 1/9 Spike Hill. 1/20 Public Assembly. 1/29 Sidewalk Cafe"
That's right! We have a new name. Joy Joy Joy!
Hope you can make it out to see us.

Happy Holidays!
What a year it has been. Thanks to all who've made it out to my shows. I wish to thank everyone for their continuing support and enthusiasm for my music. 2008 has been a great year, seeing the release of Ljova and the Kontraband's debut album "Mnemosyne" as well as Nation Beat's 2nd record "Legends of the Preacher" featuring me singing and playing my basses and banjos. Both are available on Itunes, Amazon, as well as their websites. www.ljova.com www.nationbeat.com. You can also hear my banjo playing on the national television campaign for Leapfrog as well as Michel Gondry's (Eternal Sunshine for the Spotless Mind, Be Kind Rewind) new film "Interior Design"
There's a lot in the works for 2009 including a new website, new photos, touring and of course the release of my debut record of all original songs and music by yours truly. Featuring Kyle Sanna, Mathias Kunzli, Patrick Farrell, Ljova, and Rich Stein, the record spans 12 songs filled with banjo explosions, fiddle car chases, harmonizing bicycles and red bellies. I'm very proud and excited for you all to hear it. Coming very soon!
May 2009 be filled with many blessings for you and your loved ones. Be good to one other and enjoy each of your days here on this mysterious floating globe.
xoxoxo
